Today a UK judge ruled that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange will not be extradited to the US to face espionage charges. While many of his supporters who have been protesting outside the Old Bailey court in London for months were celebrating today, Reporters Without Borders’ Rebecca Vincent warned that this is a guarded victory for freedom of the press. She told Byline TV outside the court that the judge ruled repeatedly in favour of the prosecution, only sparing Assange extradition on the grounds of his mental health and the risk of his committing suicide in an American prison.
