In the early hours of Thursday morning, Russia hit multiple cities in Ukraine with an unprecedented 81 missiles fired from various land regions and the Black Sea. It represents one of the largest scale attacks since the war began a little over a year ago and involved a number of large hypersonic missiles.
The attack hit civilian infrastructure in cities like Kyiv, Lviv and the embattled Kherson. At least nine people have been confirmed to have been killed in the attack which the Kremlin says was in response to an incursion into a Russian border town in Bryansk by a group claiming to fight for Ukraine.
Producer Caolan Robertson has been in South-East Ukraine filming a documentary about the war for Byline TV and reports from Kyiv about this morning’s attack, the state of the war as well as evidence of war crimes against civilians uncovered while filming the documentary.
